What MLK Day Means to Me

On Monday, January 18th we will observe the federal holiday honoring the life and legacy of Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Recovery Resources offices will be closed. Frequently called MLK Day, this is a federal holiday in marking the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year. Rev. King's birthday is January 15th.

Reverend King was an American Baptist Minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968.

As we prepare for our day of honoring Reverend King’s legacy, we asked several staff members, “What does MLK Day mean to you?”
