Title: Suicide Prevention & Cultural Humility
When: October 31st, 2019
Time: 9:00 am – 12:15 pm
Location: Lakewood Park, Women’s Club Pavilion, 14532 Lake Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107
Part One: Suicide Prevention: Question, Persuade, Refer
9:00 – 10:30 am
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
Part Two: Introduction to Cultural Humility, Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions
10:45 am – 12:15 pm
This training provides a brief introduction to the concepts of cultural humility, unconscious bias and microaggressions. Through understanding of these concepts, professionals will be better equipped to work with the community.
This training offers three CEUs for Ohio licensed counselors (RCX029002), social workers (RSX069001) and chemical dependency professionals (50-17857).
