Recovery Resources Hosts Night of Recovery Comedy, March 29, 2014 at Nighttown

February 10, 2014 (Cleveland, OH) – Recovery Resources’ Board Member, Tom Roulston III, knows the healing that laughter can bring – so he has helped bring it to Cleveland.  On Saturday, March 29, 2014, Recovery Resources will host an evening of recovery comedy with comedian Bob Perkell at Nighttown in Cleveland Heights.

The goal of this unique comedy event is to bring comic relief to those in drug and alcohol recovery, as well as to their friends and family.  One in 4 people will be touched by mental illness and/or addiction in his/her lifetime and, while not at all a laughing matter, this is something that so many of us face, yet feel like we are doing so alone.  Laughter allows us to heal and lets us know we are not alone.

Bob Perkell’s high energy and unpredictable approach to comedy, has taken the 24-year veteran of standup around the world performing his act. From comedy clubs and well over 200 12-step conventions and treatment centers in the US and England, to multiple overseas comedy tours for military troops in over 10 countries,  Perkell has also appeared on Comedy Central, Showtime, and B.E.T.

Perkell has referred to his comedy act as “sharing all the voices in my head out loud.”

The two, 60 minute showings have limited seating but are open to the general public.  Tickets can be purchased at www.recres.org/events/RecoveryComedyShow.

Recovery Resources is a nonprofit, 501(c) 3 organization that has helped people triumph over mental illness, alcoholism, drug and other addictions since 1956.
