More than 450 runners and walkers come together to raise funds in support of our mission of providing hope and help for people struggling with mental illness and addiction. Hosted by the Recovery Resources Associate Board

The Associate Board promotes the mission, goals, and objectives of Recovery Resources and is comprised of vibrant, community-minded, young professionals and volunteers. The Associate Board embraces a comprehensive strategy of community outreach through awareness, education, social, and fundraising activities focusing on their main annual event, the Run for Recovery. The Associate Board also serves as a resource for the development of future community leaders and Board members.

Treatment: Whether a client needs treatment for the early stages of substance use or has been dependent on drugs and/or alcohol for a long time, Recovery Resources offers a variety of outpatient services, including Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Addiction Treatment Programs, lasting eight weeks. Money raised from the Run for Recovery allows these programs to continue and gets those who need care into treatment.

Transportation: One of the largest barriers clients face when seeking treatment is transportation. Many clients don’t have personal methods of transportation, and must rely on rides from loved ones, public transportation, or walking/biking. Lack of reliable transportation decreases the likelihood of a client seeking treatment while also increasing the likelihood of clients relapsing. We currently provide telehealth services, so clients can access services from the comfort of their own homes. However, this option is not always feasible for clients who are experiencing homelessness and for clients who don’t have access to reliable internet or technology. Around 24% of client appointments are classified as “no-shows”. This equates to 6,800 missed client appointments with the assumption that many of these no-shows are due to not having transportation.  Around $76,000 annually goes toward RTA bus passes and other transportation options including Uber Health. These funds heavily come from Run for Recovery fundraising dollars.

Basic Necessities: Recovery Resources provides clothing, toiletries and other basic necessities for clients who cannot afford them. We also provide uniforms for jobs and trainings to get clients into competitive employment. It's through money raised during the Run for Recovery that makes this possible.
